I am currently using a Nokia E71 but sometimes it hangs and blacks out partially.
I just received a new HTC Magic but am an IT idiot--tasks like synchronizing and transfering of data are too overwhelming for me, so I'm thinking about switching back to Nokia.
In essence, I want to seek your advice for a suitable Nokia phone. I use a lot of calender and active notes functions on my Nokia E71.
Answer:
If you want to stick to a similar smartphone, then the Nokia E72 would be the ideal choice. The E72 retains the excellent build quality and keyboard of the E71, but comes with an improved camera and a 3.5mm audio port. Calendar and Active Notes are features which are available on most, if not all Nokia smartphones, so that's nothing to worry about.
The HTC Magic synchronizes with your Gmail and Google Calendar is a rather painless way. Once you boot up the device, you'll be prompted to sign in to your Google account and synchronize data. If you've skipped the initial setup process, you can still configure an account in the Settings later on. The Magic is also capable of sychronizing with an Exchange server, but you'll need information such as the server address, login name and password, etc.
I'm not sure what kind of data transfer you are referring to, but if they are pictures, videos and music, these should be stored on the memory card on your E71. You can simply copy all these into the memory card that comes with the Magic, or just use the same card on the Magic. The device should be able to read the content on the flash media.
If you really intend to stick with a Nokia smartphone, you can transfer your current phone settings and content to the new phone using the Nokia PC Suite software that comes with the device. Refer to this link for more information.Share This Post on Twitter Just Click Tweet Button
