Sony Ericsson outs 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot phone in Japan

Hot on the heels of Panasonic's 13.2-megapixel Lumix Phone, unveiled earlier this month at the Ceatec Tokyo show is Sony Ericsson's 16.2-megapixel S006 Cyber-shot handset.

In addition to all those megapixels stuffed onto Sony's backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor, you also get sensitivity settings up to a whopping ISO 12,800, a 1GHz Snapdragon chip, 3.3-inch WVGA TFT display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and infrared wireless connectivity. Naturally, as with most Japanese cell phones, the S006 comes with mobile wallet functions and will be available only in Japan through KDDI next spring.

It's a bummer since the rest of Asia will have to wait till 16 megapixels becomes standard on GSM phones. Share This Post on Twitter Just Click Tweet Button
