Samsung to start serving Froyo update for Galaxy S

Samsung has announced that the Android 2.2 Froyo for theGalaxy S will be available from mid-October, which basically reads any time now in the Nordic region. Other European markets, Southeast Asia and US will follow after. The update will be delivered via Kies, the company's proprietary upgrade software, which can be downloaded here.

Features that will come with Froyo on the Galaxy S, according to the press release, include:
  • Voice-controlled GPS using Google Maps with Navigation
  • Support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1
  • Improved customization options with setup wizard
  • In-browser search
  • Pinch-to-zoom for home screen and menus

Guess you'll have to keep refreshing Kies to see when the update becomes available. Also, do other Galaxy S owners a favor and post in Talkback when the download is available in your country!
