iPhone app Suppin lets you scrub off Shibuya girls' makeup

(Credit: Colony Interactive)

The last time a relative dropped by minus cake of makeup on her face, I almost mistook her for a house help. So, if you're wondering what those uniformly kawaii Shibuya girls from Tokyo town look like beneath all that face paint and paste-on eyelashes, here's a chance to find out.Suppin, which means makeup-free face and clearly created by a woman, is an iPhone app that lets you "scrub" clean the faces of these doll-like glamor gals. The developer managed to convince 12 college girls to bare all… that is, pose barefaced for the camera before and after the makeup. The transformations are nothing short of amazing and will convince you there's hope yet that anyone can be a glamorette, given the right makeover.
