The popularity of the iPhone means its interface gets ripped off a lot. You can see it in a number of "Shanzhai" handsets from China. So when we saw the SeeSee iPhone app, we were a little surprised--it imitates the Windows Phone 7 interface.
This photo management software is available from the Apple App Store for US$1.99. Its default view looks just like the Live Tiles on WP7's home screen. It even has the little arrow in a circle that tells you there are more options on the right. Once in an album, a horizontal context menu on the top lets you sort your content so you can see everything, just photos or only videos.
Interface aside, this app lets you upload/download images to your iPhone using an Internet browser. You simply have to turn on Wi-Fi sharing in SeeSee and an Internet address will be provided. Type this into your browser and the iPhone's camera roll will be displayed. You can then upload/download images and videos from your computer easily.
SeeSee doesn't turn your iPhone into a Windows Phone since it's just a photo organizer. But it's interesting to see that a developer found Microsoft's interface worthy of mimicking. Steve Jobs once famously said: "Good artists copy, great artists steal." Looks like Chen Ping, the developer of SeeSee, has taken that quote to heart.
