nokia 5230 applications

I recently bought Nokia 5230 and I'm stuck a bit. I can see hell alot of applications available for plenty of S60 devices, but most of them don't have Nokia 5230 listed. Though, I moved ahead and tried installing a few software but none of them worked. I'm badly in need of document and pdf reader. I tried "Readmaniac", but no luck. My mobile still shows PDF are unreadable.

nokia 5230 Home Screen Theme

I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

Answer:

Nokia 5230 and RADIO

Scanning manually or automatically a radio channels on Nokia 5230 the radio application doesn't receive the radio channel name even if the RDS icon is displayed. A further manually radio channel name insertion activity is necessary.



1) Does anybody know if this the radio channel name reception is available on Nokia 5230 ?

2) Is it possible to record a radio channel ? How?

3) Is it possible to record a radio channel setting a date, time and record time length and the radio channel number ?

5230 nokia experience bus

Nokia is facing the high lead of competition in Pakistan and the company not known for aggressive marketing is coming up with new approaches to market the Nokia 5230 , their most inexpensive touch handset around .

I like was the hands on experience, there were three guys inside with Nokia 5230, the one I talked to Mr Sarosh , had the one configured for Gaming ,i.e. had the Need For Speed Shift installed on it,I asked him a few questions and found Nokia had trained them well. He was not only fluent in specs about his own 5230 but also had the information about competition i.e Samsung Genoa and Corby, knew about Symbian and it’s advantages over Java based phones and of course about OVI Services. Kudos to Nokia on that.

Another great feature was the large touch screen replicas of phone, which were linked with the phone and fully functional mobile interfaces, powered by Remote S60 Professional. In conjunction with the Experience Bus, Nokia also had a lucky draw for Nokia 5230 and for that they were giving out OVI Service booklets hoping people will read it. positive points:

The Nokia 5230 Nuron has free maps and voice-guide navigation via Ovi Maps, 3G, and excellent call quality, all at an affordable price. It's also the first Nokia smartphone with a U.S. carrier to offer access to the Ovi Store.

negative points:

The Nuron lacks Wi-Fi and a document viewer. Its user interface is clunky and confusing, and we wish it had a capacitive touch screen. No flash for the camera.
